How to turn off the beeping sound when using the function keys to adjust the volume or brightness.

The beeping noise that occurs when using the function keys can not be turned off independently from the system volume. The sound can be eliminated by renaming the audio file. The file is pi.wav located in the c:\program files\sony\vaio event service\ folder. The sound will not play again unless the original file is named properly and placed in the correct folder.
