How to improve the performance of the VAIO computer using the VAIO Care application.

The VAIO Care application includes several different tools to help improve the performance of your VAIO® computer. These tools can be used independent of one another, or used together to help resolve more difficult or complex performance issues. Follow this procedure to use these tools to improve the performance of your computer.

    1. Click the Start button, click All Programs, and then click VAIO Care.
    2. In the VAIO Care window, click the Refresh button to initiate a VAIO Care performance scan. Image

NOTE:  A bar will be displayed to show the progress of the scan.

    3. Once the performance scan is complete, click on the Performance button. Image
    4. In the Performance screen, click Fix this issue next to each of the following VAIO Care tools (if displayed): Image
      • Disk defragmenter - This tool indicates the number of disk fragmentation issues present.
      • Disk cleaner - This tool lists any potential issues on your built-in storage device.
      • Registry defragmenter - This tool indicates the number of registry issues present.

      NOTES:

      • On computers with a Solid State or RAID Hard Drive configuration, the Disk defragmenter tool is not needed, and therefore not available.
      • The Fix this issue link will not be displayed if the tool has recently been run, or if the VAIO Care application determines that there no action needed.
      • If no issues are found after using these tools, no further action is required.
      • You only need proceed with the remainder of this solution if additional issues are identified.
