How to format the Memory Stick media

WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. Formatting erases all the data saved on the memory card. Make sure you have backed up any files to your computer before following the steps below.

NOTE: A Memory Stick media format utility can be downloaded online. Downloads are posted on your model support page.

1. Click the Start button.
2. Click Computer or My Computer.
3. In the My Computer window, click to select the Memory Stick® drive.
4. On the menu bar, click File.

   NOTE: To view the menu bar:

   1. Click Organize.
   2. Click Layout.
   3. Click to select Menu bar.
5. On the File menu, click Format.
6. In the Format Memory Stick window, click the Start button.
7. In the WARNING: Formatting window, click to OK button.
8. In the Format Complete window, click the OK button.
