Additional troubleshooting
- Make sure the remote control is not accidentally being pressed.

- Consider if Cast or Airplay had been used.
-
Check your Recently opened apps on the TV.
Note: These steps may vary depending on your TV menu options. Check your TV
manuals
for specific details.
Check if the time on the recently opened apps matches the time the TV was turned on. Some apps are capable of waking up the TV. If you have recent apps used about the time the TV turned on, try turning off the notifications for these apps:
- Open the Settings screen according to your TV remote options:
- Press the (Quick settings) button, then select Settings.
- Press the HOME button, then select Settings.
- Select Apps.
- Under Recently opened apps, locate and select the app that was used close to the time the TV turned on.
- Scroll down and select Notifications. Select to make sure the toggle for notifications is not enabled.
- Exit the menu and see if the changes make a difference.
Note: If the issue continues, try uninstalling the recent app suspected of turning on your TV. Until changes are made to the app, this issue may continue while the app's installed.
- Update the TV software.

TV turns off automatically
Check the Daydream or Screen saver settings
Note: Not all models will have these features and settings. Check your manual if model-specific information is needed.
Note: To prevent screen burn-in, when the Daydream or Screen saver is set to Sleep or None, the TV goes into sleep mode after the specified time period set for When to Daydream or When to start. This function still works even if When to Sleep or Put device to sleep are set to Never. However, it doesn't activate when a program or movie is playing on the TV.
Set the Sleep timer, Idle TV standby, and Auto shut-off to off
Note: Not all models will have these features and settings. Check your manual if model-specific information is needed.
Additional troubleshooting
- Disconnect all external devices from the TV (USB, LAN connection, HDMI® connection, Antenna, etc.) except the power cord and turn the TV on. If the TV turns on and stays on, reconnect the devices one at a time until you find the device that's causing the issue.
