Wind noise is not reduced when using the ECM-XYST1M stereo microphone.

The wind noise reduction feature in the camera only works with the built-in microphone. It does not work with the optional ECM-XYST1M microphone. To reduce wind noise when using this optional microphone, you can use the built-in low cut filter of the microphone and the supplied wind screen.

Place the supplied wind screen on top of the microphone to reduce the popping noise caused by wind or breathing.

If the wind noise is still too strong, move the NORM/LOW CUT switch on the ECM-XYST1M to the Low Cut position.
