The sound from one side (left or right) of the wired headphones is very low

These are general troubleshooting steps for sound issues with headphones. Refer to the product manuals for model-specific information. Check if the sound issue is resolved after performing each step.

1. Make sure your headphones are firmly plugged into the headphone jack of the source device.
   • If your player or audio device has more than one connection jack, make sure the headphones aren't connected to an audio-in or microphone jack.
2. Set the source device volume to a higher level, and if your headphones have a separate volume control, adjust it to the desired listening level.
3. If audio only plays on the left side of your headphones, ensure the audio source supports stereo output..
   • IMPORTANT: A mono device will only output sound to the left side.
   • Generally, if a device has an output jack labeled EARPHONE it will be mono, while an output jack labeled HEADPHONE will be stereo.
4. Check the source device to make sure the volume is set equally on the stereo channels.
   • If the issue is resolved at this point, the audio source is the cause.
5. Play back audio from a different app, playback media, channel, or station.
   • If the issue is resolved at this point, the audio source is the cause.
6. If you use an extension cable to connect your headphones, disconnect it and connect your headphones directly.
7. If you're using a portable player that uses an inline remote, disconnect the remote and plug your headphones directly into the player.
   • If the issue is resolved with the remote disconnected, the inline remote may require repair.
8. Test your headphones on another device.
   • If the issue persists on another player, then your headphones should be replaced.
9. Test a different set of headphones on the device.
   • If the sound issue is still not solved when using a new set of headphones, repair for the player may be required.
