Termination of the YouTube App on Certain Televisions and Video Products

April 20, 2015, Changes
Google®, the service provider of YouTube™, posted an important notice on their official website on January 22, 2015, that Google will no longer support YouTube apps on certain devices after April 20, 2015. Please visit the YouTube support article for more information.
As a result of Google's decision, the YouTube app 
and related functions will no longer show content on certain models of Sony® television, video and audio products after April 20, 2015.
September 30, 2016, Changes
Some TV models also include the YouTube for TV app 
. When using the YouTube for TV app you may experience a black screen, or an error message may be displayed, and the video will stop playing.
These symptoms are not a failure of your TV. However, due to these issues Sony has decided to delete the YouTube for TV icon from affected BRAVIA® TVs, and the YouTube for TV function will not be usable after September 30, 2016.
February 15, 2017, Changes
Some 2012 Blu-ray Disc™ players and home theater systems also include the YouTube for TV app . When using the YouTube for TV app you may experience a black screen, or an error message may be displayed, and the video will stop playing.
Due to these issues Sony will no longer provide the YouTube function for 2012 video and audio products after February 15, 2017.
