Follow the steps below if the computer doesn't recognize the camera or the memory card:
If you use a USB cable to connect the camera
- Turn on your camera and connect it to the computer with the supplied USB cable.
- Check the computer to see if it recognizes the camera:
- Microsoft® Windows® operating systems: check if an additional icon appears on the PC or Computer window.
- macOS® or OS X® operating systems: check if an additional icon appears on the desktop.
- If the camera has an LCD display, check the USB transfer mode.
- If the USB transfer mode is PTP, MTP or PC Remote, set it to Mass Storage and check if the camera is recognized. For some computers and cameras, you may need to set the USB transfer mode to PTP or MTP to allow images to be downloaded. Check your camera manual for model-specific information.
Manuals are posted on your model support page.
- On the computer, try a different USB port.

If you use the memory card slot on the computer
