How to download PlayMemories Camera apps wirelessly using the camera.

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check Applicable Products and Categories for details.

PlayMemories Camera apps can be downloaded and installed to the camera directly if it is connected to an active wireless network. Before proceeding with the steps, make sure that you have:

• A Sony® camera with PlayMemories Camera™ apps feature
• An active wireless network
• A Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) or a PlayStation Network (PSN) account.

Follow the steps below.

NOTE: The pictures in this article were taken from an NEX-6 camera. The User Interface (UI) of the NEX-6 camera may slightly vary from the UI of other camera models.

1. Turn on the camera.

2. Press the MENU button.

3. Select Applications.

   

4. In the list of applications, select PlayMemories Camera Apps.

   

5. Connect the camera to the Wi-Fi® network.

   NOTE: Skip this step if the camera is already connected to the wireless network. But, if the camera is not yet connected to the wireless network, choose a connection method.

   • Using WPS Push method.

     1. Select Network Settings.

        

     2. Select WPS Push.

        

     3. Press the WPS Push button of the access point (router, modem, etc.) to connect.

        

        

   • Selecting an access point manually.

     1. Select Network Settings.

        

     2. Select Access Point Set..

        

     3. Select the SSID of your wireless network.

     4. Enter the network password.

   Once the camera is connected to an access point, you will be directed to a page with list of available apps for download.

6. Select your desired app.
7. Select Install.

   

8. Login using an SEN account or a PSN account.

   NOTES:

   • After logging in, the download and installation will start.
   • For paid apps, you should have a credit card linked to your SEN account or PSN account.
