Recommended settings when shooting self-portraits with the DSC-RX0 using the VCT-SGR1 Shooting Grip

    If you shoot self-portraits with the DSC-RX0 Cyber-shot® camera and VCT-SGR1 shooting grip, you won't be able to check the focus on the monitor. Follow the recommended settings and shooting procedures to improve the autofocus accuracy.

      1. Make sure the camera is at least 50 centimeters (1.7 feet) away from your face.
        • 50 centimeters is the minimum shooting distance of the camera.

      2. On the shooting grip, press the PHOTO button halfway.
        • A beep indicates the camera is focused on a subject.
      3. To take a photo, press the PHOTO button all the way down.

    Note: After turning on Face Detection and Audio signals, the camera beeps if it is in focus.

    Movies

    • Recommended Settings:
    • Shooting procedure.
      1. Keep the camera between 50 centimeters - 1 meter (1.7 - 3.3 feet) away from your face.
      2. On the shooting grip, press the MOVIE button to start recording.

    Note: NEAR Mode in PF to ON sets a limit on the focus range. Face Detection allows the camera to detect faces and adjust the focus and exposure automatically.
