We recommend that you also enable proxy video recording. Set [Proxy Recording] to [On] in the camera menu in advance. Proxy videos can be imported and played on any mobile device.

• Android: XAVC S, XAVC HS
  • On some smartphone models, issues such as no audio or choppy video playback may occur when you play non-proxy videos.
• iPhone/iPad:
  • XAVC S
    • These formats cannot be imported: XAVC S HD/4K videos in 4:2:2 10-bit format, XAVC S 4K videos with a frame rate higher than 60p, and XAVC S-I videos. Also, it may not be possible to import other videos on some iPhone/iPad^*1 models.
    • *1 iPhone 8/8 Plus, iPhone X, iPad 6th generation, iPad 7th generation, iPad Pro 12.9-inch/9.7-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch 2nd generation/10.5-inch
  • XAVC HS
    • Videos recorded in XAVC HS 8K format cannot be imported.
    • Importing XAVC HS 4K videos recorded with a bit rate higher than 100 Mbps is only possible on some iPhone/iPad^*2 models.
    • Only proxy videos can be imported on some iPhone/iPad^*3 models.
    • *2 iPhone 11 series or later, iPad 9th generation or later, iPad Air 4th generation or later, iPad mini 6th generation or later, iPad Pro 12.9-inch 5th generation or later, and iPad Pro 11-inch 3rd generation or later

Migrating from Imaging Edge Mobile to Creators' App

If camera system software updates prevent you from using an existing Imaging Edge Mobile, you will need to migrate to Creators' App for the camera. Creators' App improves upon Imaging Edge Mobile functionality by adding new features such as cloud storage, the Discover site for interacting with other content creators, and support for future camera system software updates. After updating the camera system software, install Creators' App and set up a connection as described in "Connecting the camera to Creators' App."

Imaging Edge Mobile Plus users

Imaging Edge Mobile Plus has been renamed Creators' App. Updating from Imaging Edge Mobile Plus 1.0 automatically applies Creators' App 2.0, which has a new icon. Creators' App improves upon Imaging Edge Mobile Plus functionality by adding new features such as cloud storage, the Discover site for interacting with other content creators, and support for future camera system software updates.
