Connecting your TV, Blu-ray Disc player, or other internet video device to a wired network

    This information is provided to help you connect your TV, Blu-ray Disc™ player, or other internet home video device to a wired network. A wired LAN (Local Area Network) connection allows access to your home network and the internet.

    Before you start

    • Not all Blu-ray Disc players or TVs have internet capabilities. To verify, check your product specifications or supplied documents.
      Manuals are posted on your model support page. .
    • Requires a network cable to connect your device to your router/modem. Also known as Ethernet or LAN cables.
    • Requires a router/modem with an active internet connection. Your router/modem may be two separate devices or combined in one.

    Network connection and setup

    1. Make sure your router/modem is on and connected to the internet.
    2. Connect your network cable to an available port on the router/modem and to the LAN port on the back of your device.

    3. Follow the network setup menu of your device for a wired connection.

      Note: These steps vary by model and device and may appear slightly different for your product. For model-specific instructions, refer to the manuals supplied with your device.

      • Android TV™ models:
        1. On the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
        2. Select Settings.
        3. The next steps depend on your TV menu options:
          • Select Network & InternetEasy setupWired LAN. (Android 9)
          • Select NetworkNetwork setupEasyWired LAN. (Android 8.0 or earlier)
        4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
      • Other internet capable TVs and devices:
        1. On the supplied remote, press the HOME or Menu button.
        2. Select Settings.
        3. Select Network.
        4. Select Network Setup.
        5. Select Set up network connection or Wired Setup, or as instructed on-screen.
        6. If the option is available, it's recommended to select Easy or Auto.
        7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
