The Xperia Ear Duo doesn't pair with my Android device

    You may experience that you can't pair your Android device with the Xperia Ear Duo.

    Try these methods one after the other. Verify whether the problem was solved after each method, before trying the next one.

    1. Make sure not to cover the proximity sensor with your finger, as this can prevent the main unit from entering pairing mode.
    2. Make sure that the latest version of the Xperia Ear Duo app is installed on your Android device. If it's not installed, install it from Google Play Store.
    3. Launch the Xperia Ear Duo app and follow the on-screen instructions. If the Xperia Ear Duo setup guide wasn't successfully completed, place the right main unit in the charging case, and let it charge for 5 seconds. Then remove it.
      • If the LED of the main unit flashes quickly in blue, turn on Bluetooth in your Android device and select XEA20.
      • If the LED of the main unit flashes slowly in blue, touch and hold the touchpad. If the LED then starts flashing quickly in blue, turn on Bluetooth in your Android device and select XEA20.
    4. If pairing failed, perform a factory data reset of the right main unit. Then remove XEA20 from the Bluetooth menu in your Android device. Follow the instructions in step 3.
    5. If pairing is successful, launch the Xperia Ear Duo app, and complete setup guide.
    6. If the setup guide was successfully completed and Some functions unavailable appears in the Xperia Ear Duo app, follow these steps.
      • Tap the text Some functions unavailable.
      • If the text doesn't change to Connected, follow the instructions under If none of the methods above solved the problem ... .
    7. If the setup guide was successfully completed and Connected appears, your Android device is successfully paired with the Xperia Ear Duo.

    If none of the methods above solved the problem, follow these steps

    Try these methods one after the other. Verify whether the problem was solved after each method, before trying the next one.

    • Turn off Bluetooth in your phone or tablet, and then turn it back on again.
    • Restart the right main unit and then pair and connect the Xperia Ear Duo to your device.
    • Force close the Xperia Ear Duo App using Settings > Apps & notifications > App info > Xperia Ear Duo > FORCE STOP.
    • Restart your phone or tablet.
    • Uninstall the Xperia Ear Duo app and then install it again from Google Play Store.
    • If these actions didn't solve the problem, contact us.
