The GPS positioning date displays incorrectly

We have identified an issue where the GPS positioning date displays incorrectly. This is due to the fact that the device settings have been unintentionally changed to an incorrect date, preventing the Auto Time Correct function from working as it should. 

This notification applies to the Handycam® Digital Video Cameras, Digital Recording Binoculars, α™ (Alpha™) Interchangeable Lens Digital Cameras, and Cyber-shot® Digital Still Cameras, released between 2010 and 2013.

The issue was caused by the GPS Week Number Rollover phenomenon, which is when the week number in the date sent by the GPS satellite resets to 0 every 1024 weeks. This GPS Week Number Rollover occurred on April 7, 2019.     

In order to correct this issue and avoid it occurring in the future, (1) set the Auto Time Correct setting to Off, and then (2) reset the correct time and date on your device  before using it again. There are no problems with GPS positioning results or automatic area correction features, so following these steps will correct the problem and prevent it from occurring again.
