How to reinstall the original device drivers bundled with the computer using the VAIO Recovery Wizard program.
IMPORTANT:
- Individual drivers can be downloaded online. Downloads are posted on your model support page.
- This model does not use Recovery CDs to reinstall the drivers. Recovery data is included on a special partition of the hard drive.
- This procedure does not reinstall the drivers in the operating system, it only saves the drivers to the hard drive so the original setup files or the Update Driver function in Device Manager can be used to reinstall the drivers.
- Do not interrupt the power during the recovery process.
- Close all open programs.
- On the taskbar, click the Start button, point to All Programs, and click VAIO Recovery Wizard.
- In the VAIO Recovery Wizard window, click the Next button.
NOTE: If there is no shortcut for the VAIO Recovery Wizard in the program list, start the program from Control Panel.
- In the Media and Recovery Options window, click to select the Proceed with System Recovery option.
- Click the Next button.
- In the Recovery Options window, click to select the Custom Recovery (Recommended for advanced users) option.
- Click the Next button.
- In the Custom Recovery Options window, click to select the Application Recovery option.
- Click the Next button.
- In the Begin Application Recovery window, click to select the VAIO Driver Recovery Wizard box.
- Click the Next button.
- In the Application Recovery Complete window, click the Finish button.
NOTE: The computer will restart.
