    Before You Start


    Important Notes

    Download and Installation Instructions

    1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
    2. Download the EP0000600461.exe file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
    3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the EP0000600461.exe file to begin the installation.
    4. At the "User Account Control" screen, click "Yes".
    5. At the "Select Country" screen, select the country for this installation, and then click "Next".
    6. At the "Optiarc BD RW BD-5850H Firmware Update Ver. 1.71" screen, click "Next".
    7. At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.
    8. At the "Finished" screen, click "Finish".
    9. At the "This system must be restarted to complete the installation" screen, click "OK" to restart the computer.

    After the computer restarts, the installation of the Optiarc BD RW BD-5850H Firmware Update is complete.

    NOTE: If you wish to confirm the version of the firmware update follow the steps listed below.
    How to view the version of the installed firmware
    1. Click "Start", "All Programs", "Accessories", "System Tools", then "System Information".
    2. To open the "Components" page, click the "+" (plus) sign next to "Components".
    3. Click "CD-ROM".
    4. In the "PNP Device ID" secction, Optiarc BD RW BD-5850H version 1.71 should be listed.
