YouTube content is playing in thumbnail view instead of full screen

This article provides temporary workaround options for an issue where the content from the YouTube™ app on your Android TV ™ or Google TV ™ is playing in a thumbnail view instead of full screen.

Turn off Preview with sound

This option provides a temporary workaround by turning the sound off in the YouTube preview feature.

1. Go to the YouTube app on your TV
2. Navigate to the YouTube menu, and select Settings.
3. Select Preview with sound, and then select Off.
   
4. Exit the YouTube app.
5. Unplug the AC power cord for your TV, then plug it back in.

Additional options (with Preview with sound on)

These options provide temporary workarounds without turning the sound off in the YouTube preview feature. Perform one of the following options:

• On the YouTube page, navigate to your content, wait until the preview starts, then press your ENTER/Select button on your remote control to play the content in full screen.
• On your remote control, press the HOME button, then select Settings → Apps → YouTube → Force stop → OK, then relaunch the YouTube app and play your content.
• Unplug the AC power cord for your TV, then plug it back in. Then relaunch the YouTube app and play your content.

Note: These are temporary workarounds, so you may experience the same symptom again even though these steps are performed.
