Noise is heard from the LinkBuds Open, LinkBuds, LinkBuds UC
Follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Before you start
- For LinkBuds only: Update the headphones' software to the latest version. Doing so may resolve the issue. Perform the update before proceeding.
- Radio interference will affect the Bluetooth® communication between the headphones and the playback device. The interference is likely to occur in a crowded place, near a store's cash registers, near a microwave, near traffic lights or automatic doors, inside a crowded train or in a station, etc. To avoid interference, move the headphones and speaker closer or set the sound quality mode to Prioritize Stable Connection in the Sony | Sound Connect app.
Solution
- Select the situation that best describes when the noise occurs:
- Noise is heard while playing music
Go to step 5.- Noise is heard while talking on the phone
Go to step 2.
- Select the device that you are using:
- Computer
- Go to step 3.
- Something other than a computer (such as a smartphone, etc.)
- Go to step 4.
- Check the following.
If the headphones are connected via Bluetooth
If the headphones are connected via USB transceiver (For LinkBuds UC only)
- The issue is resolved
- The ambient sound or the computer's settings may have been the cause.
- The issue is not resolved
- Go to step 5.
- Try speaking louder, or use the Linkbuds in a quieter place.
- The issue is resolved

- The issue is not resolved
- Go to step 5.
- Set the Linkbuds in the charging case, close the lid, wait for a few seconds, and then wear them again.
- The issue is resolved
- The issue may have been caused by a temporary malfunction of the headphones.
- The issue is not resolved
- Go to the next troubleshooting step.
- Perform the following with the LinkBuds and playback device:
- Reset (restart) the playback device.
Since the playback device may be temporarily malfunctioning, turn it off once and turn it on again. - Delete the Bluetooth device information of your playback device.

- The issue is resolved
- The issue may have been caused by the Bluetooth device settings or a temporary malfunction.
- The issue is not resolved
- Go to the next troubleshooting step.
- Reset (restart) the playback device.

Initialization returns the headphones to the factory settings, and all Bluetooth pairing information is deleted.
