How to set up and use the Skype service with the built-in camera on my VAIO computer.
Follow these steps to set up and use the built-in camera with the Skype™ service.
- Point to (but do not click) the lower-right or top-right corner of the screen, and then click to select the Search charm.
NOTE: The Windows Logo + Q key combination will also take you to the Search screen.
- In the Search screen, click the Apps category, and then click the Internet Explorer icon.
- In the Internet Explorer screen, right-click an empty section of the screen, and in the lower-right corner of the screen, click the Wrench (Page tools) icon and, from the menu, click View on the desktop.
- In the Internet Explorer screen, download and install the Skype software from the Skype web site at https://www.skype.com/download.
- Follow the on-screen Skype Setup Wizard directions to create a new account.
IMPORTANT: During the Skype Setup process, you will be prompted to select the camera to use for video calls. When that prompt appears, click to select the Sony Visual Communication Camera.
- Once the Skype software has been downloaded and installed, restart the computer .
- Point to (but do not click) the lower-right or top-right corner of the screen, and then click to select the Search charm.

- In the Search screen, click the Apps category, and then click the Skype icon.
- Sign into the Skype service using the appropriate Skype ID and Password, and then click the Sign In button.
- In the Skype window, click to select the user you would like to call, and then click the Video call button.
- The user you have selected will receive a notification and prompted to Answer, Answer with Video or Decline your call.
- Once the selected user accept the invitation, the Video Conference will be enabled.
