The headphone volume cannot be adjusted (WF-C510)
Follow these steps to troubleshoot this issue:
- Use the headphone's button or touch sensor to adjust the volume.
The volume adjustment method depends on whether you set the headphone's button function assignment to the Volume Control. You can check the button function settings on the Sony | Sound Connect app. In the My Device tab, select Device settings → System tab → Change the button function menu.
- If the button function is assigned to the Volume Control:
- To increase the volume: Press the assigned Volume Control button once. The volume increases by one level.
- To decrease the volume: Press and hold the assigned Volume Control button until the volume is adjusted to the appropriate level.
- If the button function has not been assigned to the Volume Control:
- To increase the volume: Press the R (Right) unit button 4 times or more.
- To decrease the volume: Press the L (Left) unit button 4 times or more.
- The volume can be adjusted
- You can use the headphones to adjust the volume.
- The volume can't be adjusted
- Go to the next troubleshooting step.
- If the button function is assigned to the Volume Control:
- Use the Sony | Sound Connect app to adjust the volume.
To adjust the volume using the Sony | Sound Connect app, move the slide bar next to the speaker icon in the My Device tab.
- The volume can be adjusted
- You can use the Sony | Headphones Connect app to adjust the volume.
- The volume can't be adjusted
- Go to the next troubleshooting step.
- Adjust the volume on the connected device.
For details on how to adjust the volume on the connected device, refer to the device manual or support site.
Note: Depending on the connected device, the volume may not sync with the headphones. If you can't get the desired volume by adjusting the headphones or device volume only, adjust the volume on both the headphones and the connected device.- The volume can be adjusted

- If the app has the volume settings, try adjusting the volume using those settings.

- The issue may have been caused by the app settings.

If your headphones model doesn't appear in the device list of the playback device, turn off the Bluetooth setting in the device and turn it on again, or leave the Bluetooth setting once and return to try the connection again.

- Initialize the headphones.
Initialization returns the headphones to the factory settings, and all Bluetooth pairing information is deleted.

- The headphones may be malfunctioning, and service may be required.  Go to Product Repair.
