Dolby Digital Plus sound doesn't ouput from the device connected with the optical digital cable

This is a specification of the product. The TV is designed to mute audio from the Digital Audio Out (Optical) port when receiving Dolby Digital Plus™ audio. To enable Dolby Digital Plus on a Home Theater System, Sound Bar, or A/V Receiver, connect an HDMI® cable to your TV's HDMI ARC or eARC port.
If you want to use the Digital Audio Out (Optical) port on your TV, you can listen to Dolby Digital® sound by following the steps below. If model-specific information is required to complete each step, check your manual. Manuals are posted on your model support page.
- Set your TV speakers to Audio system.
- Open the Settings screen.
- If the remote control has a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the Quick Settings button and select Settings.
- If the remote control doesn't have a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the HOME button and select Settings.

The following steps will depend on your TV menu options:
- Select Display & Sound → Audio output → Speakers → Audio system.
- Select BRAVIA Settings → Speakers → Audio system.
- Select Sound → Speakers → Audio system.
- Open the Settings screen.

If available, set the Dolby Digital Plus output setting to Dolby Digital.
- Open the Settings screen.
- If the remote control has a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the Quick Settings button and select Settings.
- If the remote control doesn't have a Quick Settings ( or ) button, press the HOME button and select Settings.

The following steps will depend on your TV menu options:
- Select Display & Sound → Audio output → Dolby Digital Plus output → Dolby Digital.
- Select Sound → Sound Adjustments or Sound → Advanced settings → Input related or Common → Dolby Digital Plus output or Digital Audio Out → Dolby Digital.
- Open the Settings screen.
