DTS is not output from DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) or HDMI (ARC)

    The steps to output DTS audio from your audio system through DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) or HDMI ARC may differ depending on the TV model or Android™ operating system (OS). Follow the steps accordingly.

    For the XBR X750H series TVs

    DTS is output only when Digital audio out is set to Auto. PCM is output in all other cases.

    For TVs with Android 9 (OS) or later

    To output DTS audio, follow these steps to set the Pass through mode to Auto:

    Note: In this setting the system sound, the Google Assistant talk back and the Screen reader, are not output with DTS content sound simultaneously.

    1. Go to the Settings screen on the TV
      • Using the Quick Settings button (For models released in 2019 or later)
        1. Press the Quick Settings button on the remote control.
        2. Select Settings.
      • Using the HOME button
        1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
        2. Select Settings.
    2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
      • Select Display & Sound.
      • Select Audio output.
      • Select Pass through modeAuto.

    For Android 8.0

    DTS is output only using the settings below. PCM is output in all other cases.

    1. Set the TV speaker output setting to Audio system.
      1. On the supplied remote control, press the HOME button.
      2. Select Settings.
      3. Select Sound.
      4. Select Speakers.
      5. Select Audio system.
    2. Set the Digital audio out to Auto 1 or Auto 2.
      1. Press the HOME button.
      2. Select the icon.
      3. Select Sound.
      4. Select Digital audio out.
      5. Select Auto 1 or Auto 2.
    3. Set the TalkBack to Off.
      1. Press the HOME button.
      2. Select the icon.
      3. Under System Preferences, select Accessibility.
      4. Select TalkBack.
      5. Select Off.
    4. Set the Screen reader to Off.
      1. Press the HOME button.
      2. Select the icon.
      3. Under System Preferences, select Accessibility.
      4. Select Screen reader.
      5. Select Off.
    5. Set the System sounds to Off.
      1. Press the HOME button.
      2. Select the icon.
      3. Select Sound.
      4. Select System sounds.
      5. Select Off.
